Nicaragua has 70% of its 5.2 million people living on less than two dollars per day, and another 21% living on less than one dollar each day; additionally, 33% of the children in Nicaragua suffer from chronic malnutrition, 50% of the population do not have access to much-needed medicines, and there are only around three doctors for every 8,000 people.
