Home Gatherings
What are “One Another Gatherings?
One another gatherings
are small groups that meet either weekly or bi-weekly in members homes or
other places. It is in these small groups where relationships are started,
nurtured and matured.
While each gathering is
unique, most have a time of fellowship, prayer, and the study of God's Word.
This gathering can be a time of loving each other, encouraging each other
or just having fun with each other. After all, Christians can have a good
time in the Lord!
Small groups at Redeemer
are meant to provide pastoral care throughout the congregation. It is our
desire that every member be part of a small group so that they can continue
to mature ion the things of the Lord. To that end, we will continually add
different style small groups as is needed.
Group sizes
The
group size can range anywhere from four to fourteen persons per group. The
point is to be small enough to have effective ministry and not be too
concerned with the actual number of people.
As
the groups grow, leaders within the group will be developed to lead their
own group. This is how ministry is multiplied in our congregation.
Group distinctions
Some groups are very distinctive. For example, Victoria Lyle hosts a
Womens Gathering on the first and third Wednesday of the month. On the
other hand, the groups can be less specific. For example, Don and Cindi
Geiser
host a gathering at their home where anyone can come. Other
small groups are located throughout the county to offer this ministry to all
while minimizing some of the logistical barriers.
